Alpnachstad - Pilatus

Starting from Alpnachstad, the route initially leads uphill through wooded sections and along the steep flanks of the Pilatus massif towards Ämsigen. The trail is well laid out throughout, but requires a good level of fitness due to the continuous ascent. Along the way, spectacular views of Lake Lucerne and the mountains of Central Switzerland open up time and again. From Ämsigen, the terrain becomes increasingly alpine and the final ascent to the Pilatus is even more challenging before you are rewarded with an impressive panoramic view of the Alps and the Central Plateau.
