Alpine panorama route stage 4: Schwägalp - Stein SG

At Hotel Säntis, nestled in a beautiful mountain backdrop, begins the fifth stage of the Alpine panorama route.  Across pastures, short forest sections, and past numerous streams, you hike downhill for a little over an hour to Lutertannen. The area around Schwägalp is listed in the inventory of landscapes of national importance. Large parts of the moorland are protected so that many habitats for plants and animals can be preserved. After Lutertannen, the ascent to Risipass follows. The view of the surrounding mountains invites you to take a break. Finally, the descent follows over lush meadows and alpine pastures to the stage destination in Stein (SG).
