Alpine panorama at Wasenegg

From the starting point, the Oberburg train station, follow the hiking trail signpost towards Wasenegg. At the edge of the forest, it is worth looking back at the town of Burgdorf, with its impressive castle. The castle, with its mighty Zähringer structure, is a unique historical witness and is one of the nationally significant architectural monuments. The route continues through the Gübelwald past the beautiful Emmental farm Oschwand. Through light forest at the foot of the Dürrägerteberg, you reach the viewpoint Wasenegg. The panoramic view of the Bernese Alps is impressive. A few meters further, at the Chüeburg-Hasle fireplace, it is worth taking a rest. The hike now leads over Witebirche, Tannehüsli, and over the Diepoldshusenegg to Bigenthal.
