From Cavaglia, which thanks to the construction of the railway and the power plant was for a few decades a village equipped with a school, shops, and restaurants, you descend passing by numerous well-preserved mountain houses surrounded by woods and pastures down to Poschiavo, the valley's main town.

A visit to the Glacier Garden of Cavaglia is a must. The potholes were formed by the strong water currents of the prehistoric glacier. The stones' rotation carved the rock and produced smooth cavities.
