Description

From Neuhaus, the path leads to the Lombach bridge, where the Lombach flows into Lake Thun further downstream. You walk along the roaring Lombach surrounded by forest upstream. You turn right towards St. Niklausen where you cross the main road. The path leads through the Brandwald at the foot of the Harder Kulm to Obere Goldey in Unterseen. From there, it goes slightly downhill to the Aare river, which flows through the "Bödeli". The pleasant walk continues either along the left or right bank of the Aare to Interlaken East, where the route ends.

Note Autumn 2025 - Lombach Construction Site The Schwellenkorporation Unterseen informs: The existing weirs of the Lombach are over 100 years old and partly in need of major repairs. To improve fish passage, eight weirs will be demolished and replaced by block ramps. Furthermore, a barrier will be structurally adapted. The work on behalf of the Schwellenkorporation Unterseen is carried out by Gerber + Troxler Bau AG. Depending on weather conditions, around three months of construction time is expected starting mid-October.

The routing will therefore be adjusted until the end of January.
