Description

The circular hike leads through one of the most beautiful river landscapes in Switzerland. The Aare, still flowing primitively in Wynau, surrounds two green islands and offers shelter to many water birds in its floodplain forests. On the banks of the Aare stands one of the oldest churches in Oberaargau, the church of Wynau. This only fully painted church in the wide surrounding area is under federal protection. Also unique is the return route from Murgenthal to Aarwangen, first along the rushing Murg, with a possible variant to the monastery church of St. Urban, then past the Muemetaler pond and over the scenic Muniberg.
