85.03 Sumvitg - Breil/Brigels, Senda Sursilvana

The village of Sumvitg lies near the Vorderrhein – the Rein Anteriur. The Romansh language is still strongly rooted here.

To warm up, you walk a bit along the main road until the silence begins from Rabius. Hiking trail sections alternate with forest and alpine roads. Above Trun, you reach the settlement of Caltgadira, where the famous Maria Light pilgrimage church has shone as a beautiful baroque building since 1683.

Now altitude meters have to be gained. Over long stretches on hiking trails, you finally reach the village of Schlans. A traditional Graubünden mountain village could hardly be more authentic. A short walk through the alleys is definitely worth it. To Dardin, you walk over three kilometers on an asphalted side road and can enjoy the mountain world relaxed. The final ascent to Brigels, again on well-developed hiking trails, completes the hiking day.
