Description

From the village of Pontresina towards the train station, the summer hiking trail into Val Roseg begins on the left behind the parking lot. Through beautiful larch/Swiss pine forests and flower-rich meadows, the Restaurant Roseg Glacier is reached, which is famous for its extensive dessert buffet. The valley opens up and the view wanders from Piz Tschierva across to Piz Morteratsch and along the Biancograt up to the imposing Piz Bernina. Next to it stands the no less imposing Piz Roseg, and in the background, the Sella Group and Piz Glüschaint shine white.

At Restaurant Roseg Glacier, the path climbs steeply over alpine pastures to Fuorcla Surlej. It is certainly allowed to pause occasionally, catch your breath, and enjoy the unique view. However, at Fuorcla Surlej, it is definitely time for a lengthy rest so that the panorama imprints deeply and you can dream of it for a long time at home.

From Fuorcla Surlej, it is not far to the Corvatsch middle station Murtèl. From there, you can then comfortably take the train to the stage destination Surlej.
