Description
The starting point of the approximately seven kilometer long hiking tour is the «Dorfplatz Ried», which is located directly on the main road to Lenzerheide and at the Postauto stop. The path now leads eastwards along the Oberbergstrasse to Tschuggen. Along this path you will find the Alpine Cheese Dairy Parpan, where a stop is worthwhile. In the dairy we can learn more about the processing of alpine milk. Cheese is only in the summer months.
Arriving on the Tschuggen, the steepest part of the hike is already done. Now the hike leads only downhill to the turning point at the beautiful mountain hut settlement Mittelberg. From there, the hikers return to Parpan.
Arriving in the village, it is worth a visit to the listed, late-Gothic church and the Schlössli (small castle) Parpan. This was built in the middle of the 16th century and extended in 1675 to the final version with the cross-ridge, octagonal domed towers and balcony.
