Description
Embedded in a wonderful mountain landscape lies the Sparenmoos cross-country ski trail. The area at the foot of the Hundsrügg above Zweisimmen has already hosted the Swiss cross-country skiing championships several times. It consists of a varied mosaic of moors, pastures, and small forests. Due to its special beauty and the variety of moor types, the Sparenmoos-Nujeberg area, through which the trail also runs, is considered a moorland of national importance.
The trail on the snow-secure, sun-drenched high plateau impresses with a varied route through the gentle hilly landscape. It enchants with a fantastic view from the Stockhorn to Les Diablerets. From the start at the Sparenmoos mountain lodge, the route initially heads towards Site-Alp, where there is a view into the Simmental. At Stockenbrunnen, it turns back and completes an additional loop towards Hüsliberg. On the way back to the Sparenmoos mountain lodge, you can let your gaze wander once again into the valley and to the Vaud Alps. Those who wish can conclude the cross-country skiing experience at the refreshment hut near the finish with a snack made from regional products.
