Murder in the Canal

Train journey to Einsiedeln including crime trail to Arth-Goldau

A body in Lake Walen. A second in the Linth Canal. What connects them? At first glance, just one thing: Both were murdered in cold blood.

Between Lake Walen and Lake Zurich, you’ll follow a trail of old feuds, wounded pride, jealousy, and bitter inheritance disputes. Behind well-kept facades, abysses open up, and everyone seems to be hiding something. Once you’ve cracked the case, you’ll have earned a dip in the cool water.

Included in the experience:

  • One-way trip to Unterterzen from Zurich, St. Gallen, Chur, Rapperswil, Einsiedeln, and Linthal, and return trip from Schmerikon

  • Access to the mystery story “Murder in the Canal”

  • Mystery guide (booklet)

  • 1 coffee, tea, or hot chocolate in the SOB train bistro

Here’s how it works

  • Getting there and starting out: Your journey begins with a comfortable train ride to Unterterzen. Once you arrive, use your personal access code to unlock the Mystery Trail on your smartphone.

  • Follow the clues along the Mystery Trail: From the Unterterzen train station, head to Marina Walensee, where you’ll begin your search for clues. Exciting puzzles, hidden clues, and surprising twists await you along the route.

  • Solve the case and head home relaxed: If you’ve pieced together all the clues correctly, you’ll succeed in solving the case and exposing the culprit. The Crime Trail ends in Schmerikon. From there, you’ll take a leisurely train ride back home. Tip: Along the route, you’ll find numerous cafés and restaurants that are perfect for a short break. Use the time to compare notes, discuss suspects, and develop new theories. If you’d like, you can combine the excursion with a light hike along Lake Walen—suggestions for this will be provided in Unterterzen.

The mystery trail is available only in German.
