Alpine specialities

For an enjoyable break, a stop at Alpe Cristallina is highly recommended. At 1,800 metres above sea level, you can sample fresh alpine cheese produced on site and other regional specialities.

Historic Gotthard region

The hike repeatedly offers impressive views of the historic Tremola, the old Gotthard Pass road with its characteristic granite-paved hairpin bends, while providing an insight into the region’s rich Alpine culture.

Traditional villages in the Bedretto Valley

After Alpe di Folcra, the highest point of the tour at 1,921 metres above sea level, the pleasant descent begins across extensive alpine pastures to the mountain village of Ronco. The village is characterised by historic stone houses, small chapels and authentic Ticino Alpine architecture. From here, you can comfortably return to Airolo by PostBus.
