Thun Castle
Description
Thun Castle is a fairytale castle straight out of a picture book. The four striking towers contribute to the unique appearance of the medieval Zähringer castle. The donjon (residential and defence tower) built in 1200 and the inviting medieval knights' hall are particularly impressive.
Today, Thun Castle is a museum for young and old. However, there are also regular events such as the Thun Castle Theatre and the annual Culture Night.
We recommend climbing one of the four towers and enjoying the unique view of the town of Thun, neighbouring Lake Thun and the Bernese Oberland Alpine landscape.
In addition to the castle, the Schlossberg restaurant and hotel cater for your physical well-being. A special feature of the boutique hotel is that it occupies the premises of the former prison.
