Rigi Scheidegg chapel

The owner at the time of Rigi Scheidegg donated the necessary building land to the church community in Gersau, because the big hotel complex which included the chapel had been pulled down in 1945. Some private sponsors from Gersau enabled the new chapel to be built. This meant that the alpine farmers on Mt. Rigi from Gersau and Vitznau were once again able to attend Sunday services.

The Rigi Scheidegg Chapel is ideal for weddings and christenings. It has room for 70 people and can be reached by taking the Kräbel-Rigi Scheidegg aerial cable car, via Goldau or the Obergschwend-Rigi Burggeist cable-car, via Gersau.

For your physical wellbeing, the Rigi Scheidegg mountain hut or the Rigi Burggeist mountain hut are highly recommended. For enquiries and bookings for weddings, christenings, services or concerts, please contact the Gersau Parish Office.
