Böbikon "Güggenhühalde"
Description
Böbikon lies in the valley of the Chrüzlibach stream: the romantically situated Eetelweiher pond lies in its source area. This is located on Schneisinger municipal territory and was created in 1971 by the local nature conservation association in the "European Year of Nature Conservation". The pond is definitely worth a visit. A spring in its immediate vicinity provides clean drinking water. A highly recommended hike from here is from Böbikon through the Chrüzlibachtobel to Rekingen. From Baldingen, a branch of the stream plunges over high rocky banks down into the ravine. The ravine is also home to a rich variety of flora and fauna.
The Böbikon circular trail is an invitation to walk and hike around the village of Böbikon and to linger at the beautiful resting places. It is 6.5 km long and has a difference in altitude of 170 metres. It starts and ends at the school building, where the exact route is presented on an information board and hiking maps can be obtained. The rest of the trail is marked with special signposts.
Orchids: There are around sixty wild orchid species in Central Europe. Some of them also grow here in the Güggehühalde. The most striking is the orchid with its bright blue-violet inflorescences. It blooms around mid-May.
Opening Hours
The "Güggenhühalde" viewpoint is open all year round.
