Arrival by train
Leave the car at home! For every bike, biking or hiking tour in Switzerland, you will receive an SBB coupon per participant, which you can use to deduct CHF 10.- from the ticket price for traveling by train. The reduction can be obtained in the SBB online store or in the SBB app.
On many trips, we use the luggage counters at the stations at the beginning and at the end to hand over the suitcases. You can conveniently combine this right away when you arrive by train. If you are a GA owner, you can provide this information when booking. We will credit you the amount on the invoice. If you don't need the coupon for the trip itself, you can use it during the year. Unfortunately, a retroactive refund is not possible for administrative reasons.

The «low» route around Lake Lucerne
Experience Swiss history up close and personal on this stunning panoramic hike. The Waldstätterweg follows the shoreline of Lake Lucerne. You can look forward to enjoying scenic hikes on the Bürgenstock and the passage over the Rengg Pass with views of this region’s numerous stunning lakes. Welcome to Central Switzerland, the heart of our beautiful country.
Itinerary (3 days / 2 nights)
Day 1: Arrival to Brunnen | Brunnen – Seelisberg
After you’ve dropped your luggage off in Brunnen, today begins with a boat trip to Rütli. A short, but challenging hike follows. Both the starting point and destination are hugely fascinating, as are the thought-provoking quotes carved into the rocks along the way, which transform this challenging climb into quite a reflective journey. Details: approx. 3 km, ↑ 345 m ↓ 10 m, duration: approx. 1.5 h
Day 2: Seelisberg – Altdorf
This stage follows the Weg der Schweiz from Rütli via Flüelen and on to Brunnen. From some spots, you can catch a glimpse of Lake Uri in all its splendour. Attractive stately homes are dotted throughout the landscape between Seelisberg and Bauen and near Seedorf. There are plenty of places to get a bite to eat and maybe have a swim along the way. Day 3: Altdorf – Brunnen
We continue on Weg der Schweiz today. Between Flüelen and Sisikon, the hike follows a lakeside path reminiscent of the Riviera, passing Tell’s chapel and Tell’s slab. The climb from Sisikon is steep, but you’ll be rewarded with panoramic views once you get to the top. Your arrival in Brunnen concludes this tour – it’s now time to collect your luggage and depart. The route around Lake Lucerne is steep in places. Good basic fitness is necessary for the climbs and some of the longer stages. Sure-footedness is advisable for the tour over the Rengg Pass and on the Bürgenstock. Some days include sections on paved roads.

Arrival and departure
Arrival by public transport to Brunnen: If you arrive directly, hand in your luggage at the luggage counter by 10 a.m. at the latest.
Departure by public transport from Brunnen: In case of direct departure, luggage must be returned to the luggage counter by 5 p.m. at the latest.
Additional nights
Travel day: Luggage drop-off by 10 a.m. at Brunnen railway station. If this is not possible, we recommend an extra night at the starting point.
