Chur's local mountain Brambrüesch

Description

Panoramic mountain: The ride on the gondola lift from Chur and the Brambrüesch plateau reveal a magnificent mountain panorama. At the top, near the Dreibündenstein, you can enjoy one of the most fantastic panoramic views in Graubünden, which extends from the Calanda over the Piz Beverin to the Glarner Tödi and the Rätikon Massif. At the highest point (Furggabüel, 2174m) there is a two-part panorama board, where you can find out the names and heights of the mountain peaks as well as the names of the mountain ranges that can be clearly seen in the Tectonic Arena Sardona (UNESCO World Heritage Site).

Brambrüesch, a hiking paradise, is the ideal starting point for magnificent circular hikes. The ‘Dreibündenstein Panoramaweg’ leads from the mountain station to the Dreibündenstein. At 2,160 metres, this marks the former border point of the three Rhaetian alliances and, as a stone monument, commemorates the freedom fighters of Graubünden. The hike continues through an extraordinarily rich alpine flora to the charming mountain village of Feldis. The return journey is by cable car to Rhäzüns and by train or bus back to Chur. The round trip ‘Dreibündenstein Adventure Sledding’ leads to the other side, to Pradaschier. There, the descent is rapid with the 3 km long toboggan run to Churwalden. The post bus finally takes the hikers back to Chur.

Bike Action The Alpenbikepark on Chur's local mountain includes five signposted freeride routes, which lead from 1,595m to the valley station at 595m at different levels of difficulty. Elements such as steep wall curves, jumps, Northshores, drops, root and stone passages are built into various places. The breathtaking view down into the Rhine Valley near Chur will quicken your pulse even more. The finish in the Alpine town of Chur is unique: where else can you enjoy a coffee or an ice cream in the cosy ambience of a car-free old town before getting back on the mountain railway and looking forward to the next descent? But tourers also get their money's worth: for example, with the ‘Biketicket 2 RIDE’ routes, which lead from Brambrüesch via Lenzerheide and Arosa and finally back to Chur.

Experiences for groups Fast descents are also possible with the scooters/bikeboards. These are also very popular with groups, combined with a fine lunch menu in the mountain restaurant. Fancy something a little out of the ordinary? Companies, clubs and other groups can now book a traditional Alpine Olympics and test their team spirit as well as their laugh muscles.

Families & pleasure-seekers Several mountain restaurants, a playground, a petting zoo and several barbecue areas await guests at Brambrüesch. Shorter hikes are also possible, and the ‘Edelweissrundgang Brambiweg’ is a beautiful circular route where you can follow a story told on several boards along the way. Fancy taking off for lunch? No problem – simply book the ‘Brambrüesch Lunch Combo’ from Monday to Friday and enjoy a delicious lunch including a return trip up and down the mountain for just CHF 45 per person!
