Description

With the Wasserngrat railway, we reach the Dürrischilt mountain station. From there a narrow, partly secured with ropes, path leads through alder bushes, across grassy slopes and rock ledges up to the striking ridge. The trail rounds rock towers, follows steep rock faces and leads directly over the ridge to the rest bench on the Wandeliflue – the highest point of the hike. The panoramic view extends far over the Saanenland to the Gastlosen and deep down into the Lauenen and Turnel valleys. To the south, the peaks and glaciers of the Wildhorn and Diablerets groups are visible.

After the shelter at the Brüeschegrat, the most demanding sections are overcome. Starting from the Turnelssattel (marked as Baumersberg on the national map), an impressive high-altitude hike begins. The path crosses wild hay meadows and chamois pastures on the Lauenehore. At the Türli, various descent options are available: to Turbach–Gstaad (3h) or to Lauenen (1h30).

Below the Tube summit, the trail continues to the Trütlisberg pass and southwards into a fascinating crater landscape. In the Gryden – a gypsum region – numerous large sinkholes have developed over time. Before the highest point at the Stübleni, the path leads through the north flank to the Gryde signpost and finally continues flat to the Leiterli mountain station on the Betelberg. Along the way, you enjoy magnificent views of the Wildstrubel and the surrounding peaks of the Rawil pass.
