Views of the Appenzell hinterland

This moderately difficult cross-border snowshoe tour takes you in around 2.5 hours from Jakobsbad in Inner Rhodes with its famous Leiden Christi monastery to the beautiful Ausserrhoden village of Urnäsch with its charming village square and various opportunities to warm up again with a stop for refreshments. On the way, the highest point of the tour, the Zimmermannslauftegg, offers impressive views of the Appenzell hinterland, always with the Kronberg and the mighty Säntis behind you, and the Berghaus Osteregg is a great place for a warming stop.
