Description
In the middle of the 20th century, the way of life and economy in the Alpine region changed significantly. Traditional knowledge, which had been valid for a long time, lost its significance, values were restructured and new opportunities and challenges opened up. As part of the project "Views into space and time", the cultural assets and crafts of the past as well as everyday life are to be brought closer to today's generations. The aim of the interactive project is to preserve this knowledge from being forgotten.
Event station 1: Uors Station 1 provides a view of the lower and middle Lugnez and the "Views in space and time" route around Surcasti, which leads northwards from here along the historic local transport route through Uors and then turns left down to station 2 at the Valser Rhine. Event station 2: Mulin Station 2 is located in front of the bridge over the Valser Rhine, between the villages of Uors and Surcasti. The Mulin barbecue area includes an open fireplace with grill, firewood, table, bench and slide, which can be used from mid-May to the end of October. The Valser Rhine is very shallow at this point and invites you to splash around or build cairns. The main themes here are Glenner and Vorderrhein: Glenner and Vorderrhein. Event station 3: Sogn Luregn parish church Station 3 is located on the castle hill with the Sogn Luregn parish church, with a view of the cultural landscape and various villages in Lugnez. Event station 4: Casa Caplutta at the entrance to Surcasti Station 4 is located at the entrance to Surcasti, where the "White House", the Casa Caplutta, is located. As can be clearly seen, features in the architectural style suggest a church-like building, hence the name Caplutta (chapel). Event station 5a at Curtgin Grond (enclosure) in Surcasti In the middle of the village of Surcasti, there are views of the cultivated agricultural landscape of the lower Lugnez and the neighboring villages of Uors, Tersnaus and Camuns. To the north, the view falls on the Flimserstein and behind it the 3247-metre-high Ringelspitz, and in the opposite direction into the Valsertal, where the main themes besides the village of Surcasti are water scarcity and the diversity of stone.
The next route (5b ) runs via the Crap dalla Gneida station on the "Places of Magic" themed trail. At the 180-degree bend in the village road, the Via Crusch leads to the end of the village, then left to the Trutg da Barnier board, finally through meadowland and through the alder forest to the "Erlenstein" (station 5b). According to legend, the devil, enraged by the construction of the Sontga Catarina church in Tersnaus, wanted to destroy it with a huge stone. He missed his target and the stone crashed into the valley floor with a hellish thud. In anger, he then threw it up the slag heap (source text: "Places of Magic"). Further up, the route joins a concrete road at the Basdengias meadow, which is mentioned in chronicles as early as the 14th century. From there, turn right back to Surcasti.
Event stop 6: Surcasti Like stop 5, stop 6 is located in the village of Surcasti, which offers a close-up view of the houses as well as views from above of the Casa da Luzi with its characteristic knitted construction, the school building and the Sogn Giusep church.
