Unterer Brand cross-country skiing trail

The Unterer Brand trail lies directly in front of St. Gallen and is reachable by foot from the city. And still: One feels like entering another world, in this soft hilly landscape around the St. Gallen observatory, far away from urban hustle. The circular trail is perfectly suitable for beginners, as the trail is leading relatively flat over the broad meadows and thus has no great increase. Besides the main trail there is also a shortened variant (780 metres), which is lighted at night. Thus also advanced cross-country skiers find the desired variety and can also drive their laps until late at night.
