Trailsummit Schreckhorn hut TS4

This 10.5km trail leads deep into the heart of the Bernese Alps. From the village on foot or by cableway to Pfingstegg, the trail leads from here to the SAC Schreckhornhütte, winding its way up into a glacial valley with majestic views of the surrounding 4000m summits. If the 1773m altitude climb is enough for one day, it’s also possible to stay overnight in the well-equipped Schreckhorn hut and make your descent the next day. This provides you with a rare opportunity to experience a high Alpine sunset far above the valley. The trail has some very exposed sections and is therefore recommended only for experienced mountain walkers with appropriate equipment. The Schreckhorn hut caters for guests when the warden is in residence, ususally  from the beginning of July to the end of September.
