Description
Before that, however, we go to the Guggenbühel. This is the vantage point where car racing driver Michael Schumacher once wanted to build his residence. Well, Schumacher didn't come, so the hikers can enjoy the view over Lake Constance in peace.
After the hamlet of Schönenbühl, the hiking trail follows the Klusbach stream and after 300 metres passes a collapsed house. These are the remains of the once proud Heldmühle, one of nine mills on the Klusbach. Since the 16th century, grain was ground and bread baked here, and an inn and sawmill were operated. The mill closed in 1904 and the property began to fall into disrepair. Novelist Walter Züst was inspired by the idyllic location of the Heldmühle and has the main character Agatha Roner take up her first job as a maid here in his novel "Die Dornesslerin" around 1600.
