The Liechtenstein Trail

It comprises 75 kilometres of exciting stories, places of interest, magnificent views, idyllic resting places and much more. The best way to hike the Liechtenstein Trail, which passes through all the country’s municipalities, is in several day stages.

"With our experiences of the past, we are setting out on the path to the future": this is the central idea which sits at the heart of the celebration of the "300th anniversary of the Principality of Liechtenstein" in 2019. The central idea is symbolised by the Liechtenstein Trail, a route which connects all of Liechtenstein’s municipalities, and extends an invitation to the whole country, as well as to visitors from abroad, to head out on an exciting journey through Liechtenstein.

Discover the historical highlights of the Principality of Liechtenstein in a new way with the "LIstory" app. The app allows Liechtenstein’s history to be experienced and makes it easily accessible to the general public – locals as well as visitors. In order to point out and depict the points of interest in a way which is supported by the digital experience, the app includes Augmented Reality (AR) content, which will appeal to young and old alike. The Liechtenstein Trail can be started in any municipality. 

No need to worry if you don’t have the app, as the route can also be hiked without the "LIstory" app, thanks to the physical signage along the trail.
