Description
The vastness, the light and the view over Lake Sils in the direction of Maloja are already inspiring at the beginning of the walk. Over the large plain, the path leads on good paths to the beginning of the peninsula from where a varied, easily accessible hiking trail winds its way across the wooded peninsula. The spectacle of the clouds and the sun, the sound of the waves and the scent of the mountain forest on the Chastè peninsula fascinate again and again. Actually, one cannot get enough of it. Along the way, comfortable benches invite you to take a break, to enjoy and philosophize. After a refreshing cool in the crystal clear Lake Sils, you feel like a new person. At the Nietzsche memorial stone, almost at the end of the peninsula, the view towards Plaun da Lej and Maloja is particularly beautiful. No wonder that Nietzsche was also inspired by this unique landscape. The ruin on the rock on the northern shore, bear witness to the castle that gave the peninsula its name. The small detour to this historical place is definitely worthwhile. Fascinated by the stay on the famous peninsula, one strolls, flanked by fishing boats anchored in the water on one side and rare plants on the other side, back across the large plain towards the village of Sils.
