Description
The southern loop is a varied circular hike over the Selibühl, a popular vantage point above the watershed.
From the bus stop or the Stierenhütte parking lot, follow the hiking trail in the direction of Alp Selibühl. The view of Lake Thun, the Bernese Alps and the Emmental valley soon opens up - on a clear day, you can see as far as central Switzerland. At the same time, the striking limestone peaks of the Gantrisch range come into view.
Passing Alp Selibühl, where the upper hut is occasionally open for refreshments, the trail continues to the panoramic Hubel of Selibühl. The ascent is rewarded with an impressive panoramic view.
The descent is along the northern ridge before you can choose between the northern or southern loop once you reach the bottom.
On the southern loop, there are always impressive views of the nearby Gantrisch mountains. From Alp Selibühl, follow the familiar ascent route back to the Stierenhütte
