Schwarzwasser-Sense gorge trail stage 1 (SwitzerlandMobility 381)

The Sense-Schwarzwasser nature reserve is located not far from the city of Bern. With its free-flowing waters, shady spots in the forest and many sand and gravel banks, it is a popular local recreation area. The route starts at the Schwarzwasserbrücke railroad station. Once at the bottom of the Schwarzwasser gorge, the route follows the river upwards through typical floodplain forests.

After the ascent to the plateau with the farms, the view of the Gantrisch range and the Jura suddenly opens up. Once again you descend into the gorge. Schwarzenburg with its castle is reached via the high plateau and the church hill of Wahlern.
