Ridge hike Arvigrat, Stage 1: to Alp Laucheren in the Urner Alps

First without a backpack, then always stay on top: The first stage of the ridge hike from Stanserhorn to Engelberg leads – after the ascent to the summit either in 3 to 4 hours on foot or in 7 minutes with the unique Cabrio aerial cableway – initially downhill, then through or better: over a green Swiss picture-book alpine landscape. Always in sight: The giants of the Bernese Oberland to the southwest (like Schreckhorn, Wetterhorn, Eiger, Mönch, Finsteraarhorn) and the local mountains of our destination Engelberg to the southeast (Titlis, Gross Spannort, Rigidalstock or the Wendenstöcke). Day’s end and highlight: The overnight stay in a tent (or perhaps also in the attic) at Alp Laucheren (1938 m). An original alp with nothing – and yet everything that makes life worth living.
