Description
This varied and easy circular tour down to Sagogn begins at the Staderas parking lot between Flims and Laax. The tour leads on forest paths through the large forest of Laax to the vantage point at the hamlet of Tuora, which offers the best view of the impressive Rhine Gorge with its unique rock formations. The path, which was already used in the late Middle Ages as a transit route to the Bündner Oberland, winds its way past Maiensässe to Foppas, where there is a fireplace. Once you have crossed the river valley, the path leads past the Schiedberg castle ruins, a short detour is worthwhile and offers a magnificent view of the Flimer Stein and the Val da Mulin. In Sagogn, restaurants invite you to take refreshments before the trail first climbs steeply uphill to the small chapel of Sogn Giacun. On the outskirts of Laax, the route winds through the residential quarter; those who want to can go through the underpass to Laax village and relax at Lake Laax after the tour. Via Laax Murschetg it goes back to Staderas.
