Description
The world's cross-country skiing elite is at the start here every year on the occasion of Davos Nordic. However, the trail is also popular with amateur athletes. The route leads from the Bünda area along the forest to Obersand and over the Flüelabach to the other side of the valley. Past the Adventure Park Färich, a rope & bike park in summer, the trail then climbs. Key point of the trail: the famous "Cologna-Stutz", named after the elected Davos native and most successful Swiss cross-country skier of all time. The 236-meter-long ascent of the course is a challenge for many athletes. At the small settlement of Waldji the highest and at the same time the turning point of the trail is reached. Parallel to the ascent, the trail descends for a few hundred meters before crossing the Flüela stream. Along the creek, you can "bolt" for about 1.5 kilometers before you reach the Obersand again. The last kilometer is also mostly slightly downhill and leads back to the starting point of the loop.
