Napfbergland border trail | Stage 1: Langenthal - Huttwil

The first stage is mostly flat and starts in Langenthal. You will soon see the Cistercian monastery of St. Urban across meadows and forests, and a visit to the church with its famous choir stalls is definitely worthwhile. The route continues along the River Rot to the Wässermatten, a national cultural heritage site. A highlight is certainly the Grünenberg castle ruins in Melchnau, from where the trail leads over the high plateau of Goniswil. From here you have a choice: the 65 border trail route takes you to the official destination of the first stage. However, it is also possible to finish in the hilltop village of Ufhusen.
