Description
Start on the Lüderenalp
Your tour begins on Lüderenalp, which you can reach easily with the BLS hiking bus from Langnau. Please note that the bus service is seasonal and only operates at weekends. It is therefore advisable to check the current timetable. You can stop off at the Hotel Bärnsicht right at the start and fortify yourself for the hike ahead.
On the way to Napf
The trail leads you steadily up and down along a mostly broad ridge. You will pass small farms, alpine pastures and forests. Along the way, several mountain inns invite you to take a break and enjoy regional specialties. The route is characterized by narrow, panoramic paths that constantly open up new perspectives of the surrounding landscape.
Summit experience on the Napf
After a final climb, you reach the spacious summit meadow of the Napf at an altitude of 1,408 meters. The panoramic view is simply gigantic: your gaze wanders from the Entlebuch over the hilly landscape of the Emmental to the Jura arc. On a clear day, you can even admire the Bernese Alps in all their glory. At the summit, the Berghotel Napf invites you to stop for refreshments. Please note that it can be very busy, especially at weekends.
Descent to Mettlenalp
The descent from Napf to Mettlenalp is initially steep downhill through the forest. Once you reach Mettlenalp, you have the option of taking the hiking bus back to Langnau. Please note that the bus service is seasonal and often only runs at weekends.
