Lombachalp - Augstmatthorn: Spectacular summit hike with far-reaching views

The hike to the Augstmatthorn begins on the Lombachalp and leads directly up the hiking trail to the Augstmatthorn. The ascent is steep and physically demanding, but the reward is a breathtaking view of Lake Brienz and the surrounding mountains. The tour is around 6.4 km long and takes about 3 hours. The trail is well signposted and leads through alpine meadows and over ridges. With a bit of luck, you may spot ibex along the way.

There are several options for the way back. The variant via the "Suggiture" summit is particularly attractive. From the point at 2101 meters, you continue along the ridge and are rewarded with impressive views. The trail then descends in a steeper section to an altitude of 1878 meters - hiking poles come in handy here. The path then leads through the western flank of the Augstmatthorn and takes you back to Lombachalp.
