Description

You get your first tentative low view shortly after Ilanz at the suspension bridge over the Rhine. It's like getting used to the low views that follow. Now it's off to the sunny side and later back down to the rushing Vorderrhein in Valendas. From Valendas-Sagogn station to the village of Valendas, it's uphill pedaling for the time being. A short detour to the hidden Alix viewing platform - beware of the low view - and then on along side roads and real insider trails to Versam and on into the Versam ravine. Another low view. The ravine bridge, which was still used for normal road traffic a few years ago(!), offers you a fantastic view of the Rabiusabach stream, which gently rushes out of the Safiental valley.

As soon as you start pedaling, we'll guide you to another highlight of the tour: of course, a low view! However, you have to climb this point on foot from the small log cabin. But the few meters are definitely worth it. On the onward journey, you can climb briefly onto a small platform next to the road before entering the Bonaduz forest. On the short section down to the large suspension bridge - watch out for the low view - at Trin railroad station, biking is prohibited. This makes sense because it is very steep here and there are often lots of hikers on the trail.

Up to the famous viewing platform “il Spir” in Conn - the next low view - you can test your form and crank up around 400 meters in altitude on side and gravel roads. Take your time and enjoy the 350-metre-deep view into the Rhine Gorge - the “Grand Canyon of Switzerland”. Up to Laax Staderas, there are only around 100 meters of elevation gain before it's all downhill, with a few exceptions. You return to Ilanz via the village of Sagogn.
