Description
From Grindelwald, take the Regio 457 to Alpiglen. Then continue on foot along the Eiger Trail to the Eiger Glacier. The beautifully designed mountain trail leads directly along the mighty Eiger north face. The trail can be experienced easily without climbing skills and offers a magnificent view of the wide valley basin of Grindelwald. The trail ends after approx. 2h50 at the Eigergletscher station, from where you can already take the Regio 566 towards Wengen (change at Kleine Scheidegg!).
If you prefer to hike a little further, it is recommended to hike another 40 minutes to Kleine Scheidegg and then take the Regio 366 directly to Wengen.
The Eiger Trail can also be hiked in the opposite direction (downhill), in which case the hiking time is reduced by about an hour.Steep alpine meadows and scree slopes require good footwear. An impressive experience for sure-footed hikers.
