Grindelwald Trail 22
Informationen zur Route
Best Time of Year
Description
From Grindelwald village, the route leads first to Marmorbruch above the famous Glacier Gorge, offering great views down-valley and up to the fascinating glacier world close by. Since the glacial ice which once filled the gorge receded, the impressive rock formations in the 300m high walls of the Glacier Gorge are now accessible to view through a series of tunnels and rock galleries above the roaring of the Lütschine river, making it still very much one of nature’s spectacles. A short climb from here delivers you onto the eastern edge of the Eiger, providing fabulous views cross-valley to the Faulhorn and Schwarzhorn peaks. The undulating trail leads finally to Alpiglen where you can opt to take the train down, or make the worthwhile trip to Brandegg to enjoy the best apple fritters in the world! Energy restored, the trail or train return to Grindelwald from here.
