Description
From Grindelwald, a 6-person gondola takes about 25 minutes to the First mountain station, the starting point of this hike. From here, the path leads with gentle ups and downs to Bachsee. Grazing cows and snow-covered giant mountains of the Bernese Alps reflected in the lake shape the landscape. From Bachsee, past the shelter hut, the trail continues northwards upwards to the ridge. The path leading to Axalp crosses the ridge and then turns east towards Hiendertellti. Continuing, you pass Hagelsee, which remains partially snow-covered until late summer. Along Hiendertellti with Häxensee, the hike proceeds to Wart with Blau Gletscherli. After Blau Gletscherli, it descends to Wischbäch, Oberläger back to the ridge, and finally along it to the endpoint at Grosse Scheidegg. From here, a bus returns to the village of Grindelwald.
