Description
You start the route in Bäretswil and go through Oberdorf towards Tiesenwaldsberg. In this small hamlet is the Junod Vehicle Museum, which has been collecting various vehicles such as cars, tractors, carriages, and bicycles for over 50 years. A visit here is definitely worthwhile. After the stopover, continue along the lightly trafficked road to Stockrüti. Here you will find the last sawmill driven by a water wheel in the Zurich Oberland. The old sawmill still works wonderfully, see for yourself. At Stöckweiher behind the sawmill, you have the opportunity for a short break. Then continue hiking through small hamlets to Tannen. Here begins the ascent through the forest to Hohegg, later followed by the descent to Hinterburg. For a coffee break or lunch, the Freihof Hinterburg Restaurant is recommended. Here you can enjoy regional dishes in a cozy atmosphere. After the refreshment, you head back to Bäretswil via the Greifenberg ruins. At the ruins, there is a cozy fire pit that is perfect for a stop with the family. The children can let off steam and comfortably roast a sausage.
