Circular hike Viamala South

At the hiking signpost around 250 m south of the Viamala Gorge Visitor Center, the trail follows the mountain hiking trails of the 'viaSpluga' and the 'transviamala' down to Punt da Suransuns, where the Hinterrhein is crossed on a suspension bridge. The trail continues on the right side of the Hinterrhein to Rania. Cross the bridge at Rania to get back to the other side of the river and set off on the return journey.

Downstream, we follow the signposts in the direction of the Viamala Gorge. Halfway up, the path leads up to the cantonal road, which we cross. We continue up towards Val Baselgia and via Sant Ambriesch back down to the Viamala Gorge visitor center.

The circular hike can also be completed in the opposite direction.
