Description
This varied tour through the Romoos Napf countryside begins at Romoos bus stop. It leads uphill to the Schwändi and Finsteregg, followed by a downhill and uphill to Schwäntegg. You join the original route at Schmitteli, where you return to Romoos via Studen.
Note(s):
Key points: Relatively steep and challenging descent from the Finsteregg to Drachslis (charcoal burners’ trail, used for forestry work and part of the charcoal burners’ trail between Romoos and Bramboden); stream crossing before Drachslis. Short steep climb to Grossegg at Pulver (used by farmers).
Highlights:
Wonderful views from Schwesteregg to Finsteregg (you pass three charcoal burning sites: you may see a pile being built or burning or being dismantled). With luck you might see the men at work.
