Description

From the ‘Buffalora’ PostBus stop (Buffalora inn), you cycle to Alp Buffalora with a subsequent ascent. The Val Mora bike route can also be started from Süsom Givè and the short but beautiful singletrail to Buffalora can be ridden as a warm-up. On the Jufplaun plain, the gravel path leads straight ahead and slightly uphill - a short section uphill below a customs hut before you reach the transition to Val Mora. After the crossing, a steep but easily rideable trail leads down into Val Mora.Val Mora is still an unspoilt mountain valley, visited only by hikers and bikers. First through rocks, later on comfortable forest roads with views of the surrounding peaks and waterfalls. The watershed is at Döss Radond (2234 m); on one side the water flows over the Aua da Vau into Val Müstair, on the other into the Livigno reservoir. Now the descent begins. Pass Alp Praveder (2090 m) and descend to Alp Clastras (1943 m). Shortly below, the hiking trail runs to the right to Lai da Rims. The path branches off at Tschuccai (1779 m). Keep right or left and cycle down Val Vau on the forest road until you reach Sta. Maria or Valchava after a while. The PostBus takes you up and down the valley every hour.

Bikers in very good physical condition can also start this bike tour as a round trip from Sta. Maria.
