Description

At the start, an easy ride from Brigels through the cool forest of “Fontauna Freida”, which means “cold fountain”. You take a first short singletrail along the way. And now you whizz through the village of Waltensburg with its pretty wooden houses and soon turn off in the direction of Munt Sogn Gieri. The beautifully situated castle ruins are definitely worth a detour of 100 meters. A fun and relatively easy wide trail now leads down to Rueun. The entertaining onward journey along gravel roads and short trails now takes you to the town of Ilanz. Here you can stop for refreshments and pedal between the old walls of the old town.

If you were allowed to ride down, you have to ride up again. Take the old Flonderstrasse and reach the terrace of Obersaxen. From Valata, we would like to show you the Dachlisee. It is idyllically situated in the forest and invites you to take a break. Continue up towards Obersaxen Meierhof. At Markal, you now branch off onto a rough forest road that gets narrower and narrower. This trail gets faster and faster, although it has not been specially developed for bikes. It is simply great fun.

The next two kilometers or so on the Polenweg are a great place to rest. The Rhine lies at the Rueun wooden bridge at 733 meters above sea level. The destination of Brigels is 1257 m above sea level. You cover the meters in altitude on side roads and forest roads with alternating gradients.
