Alpine Panorama Trail Section 2: Trogen - Appenzell

The stage starts in the beautiful village square of Trogen. Leaving Trogen, you hike the first two hours to Bühler over gentle hills and through lush green pastures. The first part of the trail is mostly on asphalt roads. Accompanied by a magnificent view of the Säntis, Lake Constance and St. Gallen, the village of Bühler follows, situated between Teufen and Gais. The ascent to the two farms Unterer- and mittlerer Saul is steep. Continuing over hills and pastures, the rather short stage ends in Appenzell after about four hours. Colourful, historic and beautifully decorated houses adorn the streets and alleys. Culinary and handicraft specialities invite you to shop and cosy restaurants and gardens to take a break.
