Description
The Grimmialp was of crucial importance for the life and work of Albert Schweitzer. Together with "Tata" (Adele Herrenschmidt), a good acquaintance of Schweitzer's, he stayed on the Grimmialp for several weeks from 1901 to 1909—except for 1907 when he was in the Grisons region. Here he sought peace and relaxation and enjoyed many hikes in nature.
In his honor, a small circular hiking trail was established together with the Swiss Aid Association for the Albert Schweitzer Hospital. Rest benches and quotes from Albert Schweitzer help to reflect and recharge.
Digital staging from the rich life of the doctor, philosopher, theologian, and organist Besides extended and virtual reality, you experience through animated graphics, audio and video contributions, as well as interactive game elements on the existing theme trail the rich facets of Albert Schweitzer's life in a somewhat different way (info for download under "More info and links").
