Description
The route starts leisurely in Ilanz and leads you over Schnaus and Rueun towards Gula. The gravel roads invite relaxed riding and looking around. Only a short climb on a trail near Gula makes you sweat a little, then it continues more calmly.
From Rueun you climb up the village street to the small village of Siat. Perhaps one of the most beautiful villages in the Surselva... who knows? Above the village you find a fountain with fresh spring water, perfect to strengthen yourself for the last 250 vertical meters.
At the top you cross a small wooden bridge over the brook “Ual da Mulin”. Here a short break is worthwhile: feet in the water, adjust your helmet, and then off you go on the descent.
The trail starts easy and becomes narrower in places, then wider again. Trail and gravel sections alternate repeatedly. The scenic highlight awaits above Ruschein: coming out of the forest, the view opens over half of the Surselva, a real wow moment.
Shortly below Ruschein you continue mostly on smoothly rideable trails to Tischinas. From there you ride back to Ilanz on well-known gravel roads.
