1 - Circular route Sunnbüel - Arvenseeli & forest

Rarely are there places where the change of seasons is as impressive as in the unique stone pine & larch forest with its three Arvenseeli on Sunnbüel. The mountain little lakes with their crystal-clear, deep blue water fill during spring and early summer as the snow melts. Depending on the amount of snow, the lakes have water for a shorter or longer time. Without meltwater, the Arvenseeli dry out during the summer.

The lakes are located on the Sunnbüel high plateau on the Spittelmatte, a few hundred meters north of the Valais canton border at an altitude of 1888 m above sea level. They can be reached from the Sunnbüel mountain station on an easy and signposted circular route.
