White views on the Kaienspitz

The route partly follows the Appenzeller Kulturspur and the Panoramaweg. This sunny route provides plenty of light and vitamin D in winter.

This year, the Rehetobel tourist office was awarded the Hiking Bear for the new panoramic trail. The trail is now part of Route 3 "Alpine Panorama Trail" of the national Swiss hiking trail network. The route to the Kaienspitz suggested here also runs partly along the Alpine Panorama Trail. At 1122 metres, the Kaienspitz offers an impressive view in good weather conditions. The descent past the Naturfreundehaus, which was inaugurated in 1952, ends in Heiden. The Vorderland municipality is considered a Biedermeier village due to its classicist town centre.
