Via Alta Vallemaggia- Stage 7S: Fusio-Capanna Poncione di Braga

The seventh stage of this unique high-altitude trail leads through the larch forest and along rocks high up to the secluded Alpe di Röd. Passing several stone buildings used as livestock shelters and pastures, you reach the Bocchetta di Pisione, which thanks to this trekking is once again receiving more attention. Now the Valle di Peccia, the only place in Switzerland where marble is quarried, opens up in front of you. After a short, steep descent of almost 1000 metres, near the small bridge that crosses the River Peccia, you will discover a haven of tranquillity: Casgioléir. The trail continues along a natural rocky ledge and you reach the final ascent. This leads through an open forest and stream landscape to the Capanna Poncione di Braga. Surrounded by majestic peaks, you can enjoy a fantastic panorama of the surrounding mountains from here.
