Marmot and flower trail no. 24

The start of the trail follows the Eiger Ultra Trail E101 and E51 route until reaching Grosse Scheidegg, where the Murmeliweg undulates over Schilt and across to First. If you have time, the information boards along the route provide insights into the trail’s furry namesake, the Marmots, and their way of life, and with a little luck you’ll hear a whistle or catch a glimpse of them foraging.

From First the trail continues to Bachalpsee, and via the Blumenweg with its lush flora and fauna round to the Barggasthaus at Waldspitz. A well-deserved refreshment break here on the sunny terrace will restore the energy levels enough to see the route through to its finish in the village.
