Thurgauer Fabelweg

Rarely hiking is so much fun for all family members as it is at the mythical trail in Thurgau above the western shore of Bodensee. The panoramic high-level path from Steckborn via Oberfruthwilen to Ermatingen combines on 11 kilometres enjoying nature with mystical fairy-tale fun.

Visitors discover the world of fables between Steckborn and Ermatingen - both beautiful fishing villages at the southern shore of Bodensee. The 11 kilometres long thematic path is ideal for children and families, can easily explored in 3 hours and offers spectacular views over the Bodensee region. With: Master Bear, Master Hare and many other furred or feathered fabulous animals that are introduced with their stories.

In addition to the stories of famous writers many quiz questions and game suggestions are offered. Group tasks such as thinking up excuses or piggyback races strengthen the social cohesion of the hiking teams. Halfway two barbecue and picnic areas invite to linger for a while.

The thematic path is suitable for families and school classes, small hiking groups and individual hikers. After crossing Oberfruthwilen the mythical path isn't accessible with prams for about one kilometre.

Hint: Connoisseurs enjoy the 45-minute boat trip from Steckborn back to Ermatingen with the Schifffahrtsgesellschaft Untersee and Rhein.
